5.18민중항쟁  제30주년기념 서울행사의 하나로


5월 18일 저녁 7시 30분부터 서울광장에서 진행예정이던


광장영화제 "화려한 휴가" 상영이


어제 밤부터 내린 비로 인해


광장의 잔디에 물이 많이 차 있고,


전기사용 중 감전사고 등이 우려되어 


부득이하게 상영을 취소하게 되었음을 알려드립니다.



이 점에 대해 매우 안타깝게 생각하며


널리 양해하여 주시기 바랍니다.

2000년대에 태어난 저에게는 조선시대 만큼 옛날로 느껴졌던 역사였습니다. 역사시간에 그저 시험을 위해서만 의미 없이 날짜와 얼굴도 모르는 사람의 이름을 외우고 시험이 끝나면 까먹기 일쑤였죠. 하지만 오늘 5.18을 추모하며 몇 가지 영상을 보니 과거의 제 자신이 너무나도 부끄럽게 느껴졌습니다. 5.18이 없었다면 아마 지금의 제가 민주 항쟁을 하고 있을지도 모르니까요. 당시 자신을 희생하면서까지 오늘의 제가, 오늘의 대한민국이 있게 해주신 분들의 노력을 잊지 않겠습니다. 역사를 잊은 민족에게는 미래가 없다는 말이 뼈저리게 느껴지는 하루일 것 같습니다.
